Welcome to Hawkseye in Lewes, Delaware! Hawkseye is located east of Route 1, just off of Gills Neck Road. This amazing location is just 2 miles to downtown Lewes, 2.5 miles to the sands of Lewes Beach, and 4 miles to Cape Henlopen State Park! Downtown Lewes is a quaint town with shopping, historic sites, and fine dining establishments. The Junction and Breakwater Trail runs directly through Hawkseye, providing easy walking and biking access to downtown Lewes, Cape Henlopen State Park, or even all the way to downtown Rehoboth Beach!
Hawkseye has approximately 165 home sites ranging in size from just under 1/2 acre to over 2 acres. There are both interior and perimeter home sites with both cleared and wooded lots. Some of the lots back to the Junction and Breakwater Trail while others line the outside of the development with significant wooded areas. The largest and most expensive lots are located within a gated section known as "Hawksnest." The community has very reasonable HOA dues since the only shared community amenity is a very nice outdoor, seasonal swimming pool.
Hawkseye was not developed by an individual builder like many other neighborhoods. While some builders did construct spec homes on individual lots, the majority of the homes in Hawkseye were custom built homes that each homeowner had designed and built. Hawkseye developed into a neighborhood with a vast array of unique, exquisite homes featuring different styles, sizes, floor plans, and values. The minimum square footage requirement in Hawkseye is 3,000 square feet, so homes range from 3,000 to well over 6,500 square feet in addition to any finished or unfinished basement area.
